Join Thrive co-leaders Cori Pierson and Karen McMullen for a beautiful evening on the Kinnickinnic River exploring the lower section with small and fast rapids and beautiful canyons.
Our paddle will last 3-4 hrs, with a brief dinner stop along the way. 

  • When: July 13, 2023 3:45PM

  • Who: Women 18+ years old

  • Cost: $65 for Kayak Rental, Shuttle, Life Jacket, and instruction from Cori OR $25 for Shuttle and instruction only


DIFFICULTY
This is an intermediate kayak. Difficulty will depend on your fitness level and experience. We will provide basic paddling instruction before you get into the water. Some basic experience is recommended before joining this trip.

RIVER
This section is full of Class I and II rapids and numerous riffles. While this river is fun, exciting, and beautiful, we want you to be aware that it is a 'wild' river and does come with risks and challenges. Likely risks/challenges and potential dangers include but are not limited to: Sweepers (overhanging obstacles such as limbs and branches), Strainers (fallen trees), Sinkers (logs/branches under the water), Boulders/rocks unseen under the water, strong currents, Shallow areas your boat gets stuck on, flipping kayak, as well as possible portages around felled trees that don’t allow for navigability.


WEAR
Wear clothing and shoes that may get wet. Bring a daypack put everything you need into a dry bag or ziplock. Include a water bottle, supper, sunblock , sun hat and sunglasses. Leave a towel back at your car for the ride home.

Includes river kayak, paddle, pfd (life jacket), shuttle and basic instruction. If you own your own pfd, you're welcome to bring it. You MUST wear a pfd at all times. Please do not ask to remove it. By registering to this group event you are committing to wear your pfd.

CANCELLATION
Cancellation will not receive a refund unless we can fill your spot. In case of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled.
